DreamHack Masters Malmö 2019 viewer's guide

We present a comprehensive viewer's guide for DreamHack Masters Malmö 2019, taking place over the course of this week.

The Swedish event will take place from October 1-6 in Malmö, Sweden, with the group stage hosted at the MalmöMässan, followed by playoffs at the Malmö Arena. A total of 16 teams will contest for the lion's share of $250,000, as well as a direct invite to participate at IEM Katowice 2020 and a point towards the Intel Grand Slam Season 3 for the crowned victors.

The teams will be split into two groups of eight, featuring a double-elimination bracket with best-of-one initial matches, followed by best-of-three series. The group winners will advance straight to the semi-finals, while the second and third-placed teams will go through to the quarter-finals as high and low seeds, respectively.

Liquid fly to Malmö as defending DH Masters champions

Among participants at the event are both finalists of the recently-concluded ESL One New York 2019, Astralis and Evil Geniuses, as well as an extensive list of top tier contenders from a variety of regions, including the current No.1 team in the world and defending DreamHack Masters champions, Liquid.

A list of familiar faces will be seen in Malmö, with Tres "⁠stunna⁠" Saranthus assuming the role of the event host, joined by the analytical trio of Chad "⁠SPUNJ⁠" Burchill, Jacob "⁠Pimp⁠" Winneche and Christine "⁠potter⁠" Chi. Commentary will be provided by three casting duos, with Vince Hill and Dustin "⁠dusT⁠" Mouret covering matches on the secondary stream.
